CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch massage that can release tensions deep in the body to help relieve pain and dysfunction as well as improve whole-body health and performance. Your central nervous system is one of the few body structures that have a major influence over your health and well-being. And very few body systems have more impact on your central nervous system than the craniosacral system. The craniosacral system is the soft tissues and fluid that protects your brain and spinal cord.
Each day you endure stresses and strains and your body works to absorb them. However, your body can only handle so much tension before the tissues begin to tighten, which can potentially cause brain and spinal cord issues. This can affect the function of the central nervous system as well as nearly every other system in your body.
CST can release those tensions to allow the body to relax as well as self-correct itself. Using a light touch, with the pressure no more than the weight of a nickel, practitioners can evaluate you for strain patterns. After locating the strain patterns they use distinctive light-touch techniques to release these restrictions. Once free of strains the central nervous system can perform its best, which allows the body to naturally reduce pain and stress, strengthen your immune system, and enhance your overall health and well-being.
By applying the points and philosophy of acupuncture along with CranioSacral Therapy, the combination of these therapies magnifies and enhances the effectiveness of each treatment.
