Cupping Therapy is mostly used to relieve pain in the muscles. Some ailments that may be relieved with cupping are:

  • Arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis.
  • Back pain, neck pain, knee pain, and shoulder pain.
  • Breathing problems, such as asthma.
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome.
  • Gastrointestinal disorders, such as irritable bowel disease (IBD).
  • Headaches and Migraines​

 Stationary Cupping

Small surgical quality cups will be placed on the skin to break up “blood stagnation” or congested blood, Qi (energy), or bring toxins to the surface of the skin.  Cupping uses soft pressure to pull the superficial muscle layer and skin upward.


Benefits of cupping include the release of toxins, clear congestion in the lungs, benefit the lungs, improved blood flow, improved metabolism, and digestion, and loosening muscles.


Please be aware that Stationary Cupping may cause bruising. 

  • Strong marks can last up to 15-20 days
  • Benefits can be reached between 5-10 treatments
  • Useful 24 hours after a sports injury
  • Eat a light meal at least 2 hours prior to the therapy. Try to avoid greasy or fried foods during the course of treatment


 
Moving Cupping

  • Not recommended for deficient (weak) patients or children.
  • This method is performed for 5 mins, to begin with, and works up to 20 mins maximum per session. This is a very draining technique and is useful in excess conditions causing pain.
