​Sarah Thomas, DACM, AP, Dipl. OM is a Florida licensed Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture Physician with the highest level of board certification granted by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).  Dr. Thomas is also certified in injection therapy, facial acupuncture, and rejuvenation. She is licensed by the Department of Health in the State of Florida, License number AP 4183.
 
After earning an Associate of Arts and Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene, she pursued her Bachelor of Science in Health and Wellness and a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture from Dragon Rises College in Gainesville, Florida. Dr. Thomas then matriculated to the prestigious Pacific College of Health and Science in San Diego, California where she earned her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine. She graduated Summa Cum Laude, one of only 20 in a class of 250.
 
Dr. Thomas has conducted research, authored studies, and written grant proposals on:

• Invasive ductal carcinoma using both western and eastern medicine to improve patient outcomes,
• Acupuncture and post-surgical recovery after Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) reconstruction,
  
• The use of mindfulness meditation techniques to help teens cope with stress and depression to lower suicide rates in at-risk youth groups,
  
• The case study report of a 19yo female with Epstein Barr Virus and possible multiple myeloma.
  

Dr. Thomas is focused on all aspects of health and wellness, pain syndromes, chronic diseases, autoimmune disease treatment, oncology, fertility, head and neck issues, and facial rejuvenation. 

During high school, Dr. Thomas started working at a dental office and planned to follow in the footsteps of her uncle, who was a dentist. As a child, she remembers visiting him while he was at Tufts University in Boston and had hopes of joining him in practice one day. Unfortunately, her uncle passed unexpectedly, and that dream was extinguished. She continued with her general studies at Jacksonville University then went on to dental hygiene school, while contemplating dental school. She excelled academically being named in the who’s who in colleges, became a member of the international honor society Phi Theta Kappa, dean’s list, student government member, class president, sorority member, and won several awards at graduation. Dr. Thomas had a 30-year highly successful career as a dental hygienist, consultant, and business owner.

Over the years Dr. Thomas saw her patients, friends, and family struggle with health issues, pre-and post-operative pain, cancer, and a myriad of chronic diseases. She also struggled with chronic migraines since childhood, allergies to medications, and autoimmune diseases like fibromyalgia, psoriasis, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and Sjogren’s. She has always been an active athlete; running, marathons, understudying with the Florida Ballet at Jacksonville, a gymnast, professional cheerleader, biking, tennis, various sports, and working out. Her children have the same passion for sports, and all have suffered various injuries over the years. She decided it was time to help patients on a deeper level outside of western medicine. She had experienced the amazing benefits of acupuncture and Chinese medicine when seeking alternative treatments for her own healing and wellness and was intrigued with this new to her way of healing.

Every day she is amazed at this medicine and excited to see her patients thrive. There is no better feeling than seeing your patients smiling and so appreciative at the end of their visit when they received long-overdue relief and felt heard in a stress-free calming environment.
